L M R service rifle match April 25

It seems to be all part of SR tradition to talk about how we all have the worst gun ever made with rusty ammo and a wooden barrel :D

That way, if I do well, people will say 'wow -imagine if he had a good gun'. If I don't do well, people will say 'well he was running that garbage rifle'. :p

Did anyone take any pics of the match...I had my camera but totally spaced, it turned out to be a great day near the end. Fun match with a great bunch of shooters. Oldsmobiler with a Garand was crazy...

Hey guys....here are the pics that I took this Saturday. Tried to do as many as I could but the rain prevented me from taking more...and of course it was smoking hot and sunny today at the open house

Thanks to Bob, Peter and the rest of the gang for putting on a great event. I know there are more guys out there who have been thinking of coming out. Punching paper by yourself at the range is lame! Bring that stick out to the next service rifle event and have some fun. The next one is May 30-31....lots of time to sight it in and find some ammo (186 rounds for the whole event with the team matches included)

Yours truly at the 200m berm (48/50 btw :D )

When we got to the range I had all my gear in hand and I showed the Colonel the Garand I was shooting that day. He told me that he qualified expert with it back in the day and wanted to try it on for size to remember what it was like. Suits him eh.

Great match and I too would like to thank everyone who helped put it together, lots of fun, comraderie and musketry...perfect day. Big thanks to Rooster33 for getting me on target...my first two sighters at 200m were 10feet in front on the berm...he got me sorted out fast and I managed 50/s at 300 and 500 deliberate. Wicked_Police for lending me his scope gets props too...I will not be sending it back to Ottawa BTW:kickInTheNuts:

Lots of thanks to all to put on a great event. It was good to see some of the regulars and new service shooters as well. Congrats to Longshot, he is Mr consistent. And that garand rocked, good on you Ante. And sparrow "you realy have to start taking it seriously", one of these days. LOL

There is still two matches before the BC Championship. Next up is the Vancouver island regional and then kamloops. I have not shot the island match yet, I'm planing to change that this year, so who's in for a road trip? And kamloops is awesome, haven't missed that one in years and I'm going again this year.

I hope we'll see a good number of shooters on the Island this year. Rundowns are awesome at Nanaimo. :D
