L.S.A MK II* - Sorry, bad picz - I was at one my neighbors the other day when he pulls out this {Unfortunately} Sporterized LSA II*- as I know very little on .303's, but I know this one is probably more rare-so Sucks that its sporter & missing parts -Unfortunately! The Bolt & the Magazine are missing. He was hoping to find them. I told him it would {most likely} be less expensive to just buy a sporterized one complete, of a more common variety. If he just wants to Hunt or something with it, should I offer him a Trade for a cheap functioning one {to start a proper build}? ;)). That being said, I have an idea if this one may be more difficult to complete/find parts. I told him Id 'Ask' around, so I guess this is me 'Asking Around' is this Model more difficult to find those {or any} parts for? or Would more common parts fit/function from later/different models or MK III's etc? I only got one clear pic, didnt notice the others were blurry. I'll post anyway. Ive checked the Search & the EE, havent seen much on LSA II at all. Just some reading online. Thnx!

Could be a commercial Long Lee Metford MII* sportered.
Post some full length pics and left side of action.

Yup commercial LSA lee metford II*,

Its from before the "lee enfield" was made ( the metford rifled barrel was replaced for a enfield rifled barrel, that changed the rifle from a lee metford to a lee enfield.) They started stamping "E" on the knox forms when they switched to enfield rifling.

i have one of those too. Mine has been sporterized but lucky for me it only needs a repro forend. Mine has the same checkering on the butt stock too.

For the bolt you can use a Long Lee bolt with the saftey on the cocking piece, (that woukd look correct and have the dust cover lugs) Or even a no1mk3 bolt would work but you will have no safety and wouldnt be able to use a dust cover.as for the mag, dont quote me but i believe a no1 mag would just plop right in there.

Commercial = Civilian? I thought the Arrow & the * meant it was Military? I thought I read that.. but mehh, I really know very little on the subject. Literally just what I recently read in the Sticky/Online.

Mine looks the exact same as yours. Also made for civilian but very well could have been brought into service if the need was there. And the * is just a small change in the design but not enough to change the name of it. Like a no1mkiii vs a no1mkiii* , basicily the same rifle but a few changes ( Rear sight, mag cut off)
the receiver should be stamped "lee speed" close to the barrel.

OK, Thnx for the info! Does this take specific mag then? Cut off mag? & Are those harder to find? & also the bolt, will a more common bolt fit, or is that specific to this model? Thnx

As Evanguy suggested, a bolt from a the common SMLE Mk.III would fit and function. Headspace would need to be set.

The safety would be the half #### of the cocking piece.

The mag from a Mk.III would work too providing that the Metford magazine cut off plate was removed (if there).

Original parts are out there on the used market. Correct bolt and mag will run you about $150-200
