Have decided to "recomission" a sako L461 in 6 X 47, and will be adding new glass.
Due to the short reciever, the distance between the rings is not enough to allow sufficient eye relief for the scope. (Leupold VXIII)
I assume the cure could be to replace the current Burris bases/rings with a Picatinny rail system.
Is there such a thing for this action??? I believe the L461 has been out of manufacture for some time.
Any comments / suggestions/ fixes appreciated

There is a rail mount made by Stith out of the US it has the dual taper dovetails on the bottom and a 3/8 groove on the top, Blued steel and has set screws than set on top of the reciever, brass or lead inserted under the set screws so it doesn't damage the reciever finish.

Although this only adds 3/4 inch to the ring center to center
it may be enough to fit scopes forward to get better eye relief.

Not sure if stith is still in production.
