I was given a Spanish La Coruna Mauser once and promptly gave it to another buddy without even firing it.
Another one has made its way into my possession with a half a box of old commercial Winchester ammo.

On the one I had before you could barely see the "V" of the rear sight because the wooden hand guard was so thick.
On the current one the wooden guard is a bit smaller allowing better viewing of both front and rear sights.
