Labradar - dead internal battery, symptoms and fix - DIY with pictures

I just did this.. Thanks for posting.. What a stupid design. Glueing a battery rated for 2-4 years on a device I would imagine should last longer then that.

My internal battery lasted until I sold the unit, so at least 8 years. The hot glue on this component, as with the others, is to help with impact and vibration resistance. This is a standard way to make electronics more impact and vibration resistant, called "potting".
