LabRadar ?

The app is super useful also. You can Arm and Disarm and basically everything else but from your shooting position. From prone or sometimes certain light conditions you cannot see the screen and its really handy to be able to use it and view information without breaking your shooting position.

Good call on the app. My only complaint with mine is the UI can be weird if you don't use the device a bunch. I will try the app next time.

If your just going to check a few velocity the AA battery are fine but if you want to use it for long sessions you will need a battery pack.

Agree with all positive posts. I have had mine since they first came available. They claim 0.1% accuracy so ~3 ft/s at 3000 ft/s.

The real beauty of the Labradar is it's accuracy, the velocities can be used to narrow down on Extreme Spread and as a velocity input to QuickLoad there is no equal.

So, if you really want to improve your handloads go with the LabRadar, a quality digital scale and learn/be a student of QuickLoad.

These 3 tools will put a lot of myths to bed.

I bought one to use for my club's level 3 ipsc matches. It worked great for normal handguns but I couldnt get it to pick up the shots from the PCC rifles.

It might be the muzzle device, if the end is too far forward or back the unit won't pick up the muzzle blast. I was using a small tripod, but even that made it too high to shoot off of a bench. I finally broke down and got the plate base for it at TACCOM.

How is the build quality of the Labradar? I've heard its not super robust but maybe that's not accurate?

Don't let it fall or it's toast. I know of a few people who had their units destroyed when the wind blew it over.

It's not the most durable unit, and being shaped like a flag sail doesn't make it the most robust unit for use in the wind...

Jim, your Chrony was likely not opened all the way so that the sensors were closer than they should have been. This simple error would explain the discrepancy.

Yes, a few AAs are ok but they burn up quick. I would definitely recommend a 10,000 mah pack from Amazon or Costco

I love mine. I like the fact you can create different series for load development. I calibrated my kestrel 5700 this Moring using the MV provide by the Lad radar. The difference between the 2 was only 5fps.
