I just bought some Lake City match 7.62mm....I couldnt resist......Then I remembered reading that 168gr was the max you should use in a Norc M14.....The Lake City ammo is 173gr.....I know it will probably be hard on the internals but will it be unsafe to shoot??....I bought 220 rounds....and I will not "rapid fire" them....The rifle wont blow up on me ...will it??

The heavy bullets will put stress on your op rod. I am not sure if there will be any practical effect on the life of the op rod in your rifle if you fire 220 rounds.

If your bbl is a standard norinco with a 1:12 twist, these bullets may be a bit too heavy to stabilize properly, these are designed for match sniper bbls, usually 1:10 twist.

Send that ammo to me. I'll test if for you, and make sure it's safe to shoot. A couple hundred rounds should be enough for a thorough test

They will work fine in your Norc 14 It is safe to use them in your gun don't worry about oprod getting damaged it wont happen in 200 rnds I have shoot around 3000 rnds of LCM and M118 LR thru my inferior Springfield Armory's M1A with out any damage to my oprod , It does shoot much better than the 147gr FMJ Ball ammo

Ill tell u because I bought all they had....I got it at Del Selin's today....I bought 220 rnds from a 460 rnd ammo can....I bought what they had left and they gave me the ammo can with it for $15.95 a box......The box says its 7.62mm NATO M118 Match Lot LC 20-15 173 grains velocity 2550 FPS Lake City Army Ammunuition Plant.....I also picked up 100 rnds PMC M855 greentip 5.56.....and a couple boxes of 30-06 tracers.....I wasnt planning to buy all this but Its stuff you rarely find.....I took a couple pics....

I grabbed a bunch of boxes of 30-06 tracers like the ones you have at the last Calgary gun show.

Hey, you never know when you are going to have to mark a position right?

Hey man....have you fired the tracers yet....I was told to expect only 3 out of every 5 to work....but I had to try out a couple boxes anyways....
