I have sitting in my ammo cabinet 2 unopened sealed boxes of Lake City Match M118 (7.62x51) ammo, lot #20-10 (I think). I'm curious to know if this has any collector value? Or should I just enjoy it, shoot it, and reuse the brass. I know the early stuff was very good, then quality control went awry. Not sure if this is from the earlier days or not. I have seen posts for some of the earlier supply selling for $100 per box.
What do you guys think?

I had a crate of this stuff years ago (1972 vintage). It shot 3/4" out of my aiaw, not bad for what it is. The box is cool, just shoot the ammo.

The details of that round were a 173 grain bullet (it was not that great by today's standards) the powder was 42 grains of IMR4895 (old Dupont). It was loaded to run around 2550 fps out of the M21.

I ended up copying it by reloading the brass, ended up using 41 grains of IMR4895, 175 SMK bullet and CCI M34 primer. Chronied at 2550 fps just like the original and shot really well.
