Hi I have a nice classic Lakefield Mark II, it is not drilled and tapped for a scope, it just has a dovetailed slot for scope mounting. The receiver is a rounded top. Does anybody know what bases and rings will fit, I see that Burris makes an airgun/rimfire mount, will these fit? Thanks for the help!

I had a Lakefield MKII and every scope ring I tried would creep forward under recoil, tried 3 or 4 different brands.I drilled a hole in the receiver and pinned the front ring in place.

I have found that the round top Cooey 64 and some of the Lakefields do not fit the Weaver Tip Off rings as the claw portion is too low, hitting the crown of the receiver. For these, I use the cheaper offshore rings as they generally (not a hard and fast rule) have a little more room to allow the crown of the receiver room under the ring.

I got one of those adapter rails, clamps to the dovetail and is weaver or picatinny rail on top with normal rings above that. It raises the rail,up just a little bit but I've dropped it into a Boyd's SS evolution stock so it puts the scope where I want it for height, may be a pinch high for the factory stock.

removed my hot link, go to aliexpress . com and search 2pcs picatinny rail dovetail adapter

You can kind of see the two piece adapts under the 30mm rings in the pic below, the lower rifle is/was a lakefield

It was for the savage, I had to modify (remove some wood and JB weld epoxy bed) the stock a bit, and made the bottom plates for the trigger and magazine out of aluminum, and welded a nut onto a bolt at the front of the action to utilize one of the mounting holes for the boyds stock. It was just a bunch of little things, but the action was almost drop in and go, I'm really impressed with the shape of the SS evolution stock though, it's a great design, wish they made it for the norinco .223 bolt I have or other rifles.

Thanks Cody, I was thinking of upgrading the original stock on my Mark II, I am not sure if I will. Those rimfires look really sweet, and your forward mounted bipod looks really nice!

Excuse all the questions but, did you modify the trigger any?
