good day everyone:
i have a lakefield mkII and am looking for some info.
can anyone tell me what kind of wood the stock is and is there any way to find out when it was made.

if it has no serial numbers...then probably made pre 1968 after this year the numbers were mandatry. usually the stocks were birch...I have a Mark I, MarkII and Mark III and after stripping off the old finish, they turned out blond

They're not particularly valuable. Savage still sells the same design, you can still buy mags. Sorry I can't help with the actual question!
