I got an old Lakefield shotgun. Does anyone know if any modern Mosserg parts fit them? I would like to dump the fixed full choke and turn it into a something funn!

I think you should address your -1 trader rating first.

Is your shotgun a pump action? Does your shotgun have dual action bars or just one? What is the model number stamped into the bottom of the receiver just aft of the magazine tube? Is it a 12 gauge?

This is the wrong forum for this question.

"...Mosserg parts fit them..." What shotgun?
You can have choke tubes installed. Having that done starts at $100 plus the cost of the tubes(about $20 each depending on the brand). Or, if it has no rib, cut the barrel and put on rifle sights to give you a single shot deer gun. Or just cut the barrel, install a bead and have a single shot upland bird gun.

What do you mean by "fun?"

I was thinking some sort to tactical gun.

I have next to nothing invested into this gun. It's in pretty rough shape. The blueing on it is fair. The wood is beat up, flaking and chipped. The action works amazing. If I wanted to sell it I would be "redoing" it anyways. I already have a very decent pattern with my benelli SBEII for turkey but it's a pain putting on and taking off a scope every year and resighting it in. I priced out some accessories for SBEII"s and I nearly messed my pants! I'm thinking drop a few $100 into this thing and should be good.

1. I'm working on that.

2. My shotgun is a Mossberg lakefield 400G pump action with dual action bars and yes it is a 12 gauge.

3. I'm sorry if I posed in the wrong section. Can a MOD please move to the appropriate forum.

I was told the 500 parts will fit the 400G. Just looking for a second opinion before I start tracting down parts. I can get a vented rib 24" barrel with chokes for a 500 if they will fit. I will most likely do that. Or like you siad cut if off and make it a very open pump action shotgun.

I see this gun in the cabinet evertime I open it. It has sat there for 3-4 years and hasn't been touched. I am not working right now and am looking for a side project:D!
