Hey folks,
Background: It has been over a year now since the dead began to walk. Life is chaotic and everything is scrounged or stolen. As a new day begins, I check my ammo reserve...damn, I am running low on supplies and ammo again. Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I see movement and immediately think..."not again!"...
The Bonnyville Shooting And Sports Association is hosting a "zombie" shoot on August 06, 2016. Rimfire, pistol, cowboy and carbine (223) ammo strongly recommended as there will be a large number of ammo used - it is recommended that shooters utilize at least two firearms during each stage, but not mandatory. It will only add to the challenge, fun and excitement as scoring is not based on speed of the shooter. No shotguns will be permitted as they will give a distinct advantage to a shooter.
Each stage will require anywhere from 35 to 55 shots/targets. The targets themselves will be reactive in nature (clays) and will sway for added realism and adventure. Scoring will be hits vs total shots, it is not a timed event, but shooters will advance through each course based on a time clock - as the dead always advance slow and steady. There will be tasks to complete as well in some stages; ie. pick up and deliver a pill bottle, rescue "good guys", and "find" ammo. The event stages will incorporate elements from the TV show and video games, including surviving an oncoming herd.
Strict safety rules will be in force, but participants are encouraged to dress to a TV character or "survivor" theme.
For information, call Gene at (780)573-1884 or email at sobole@telus.net for more information and to register. Space is limited to 100 shooters. Will you be a survivor or perish?
