Gun was manufactured in 1973. New to me. Will not fire second shot without moving the selector switch manually for the barrel that hasn't fired. Internals all look in new condition and are very clean. If you physically move the inertia block with your fingers left or right it moves the selector toggle switch on top of the safety switch.
It can also be moved with the safety in the fire position. Most other guns I have seen, you can't once the safety is in the fire position.
Any ideas on this problem would would be appreciated.

Lanbers have inertial triggers so if you're dry firing give the butt a sharp rap and see if it fires then and if using actual shells make sure the butt is firmly in the shoulder when firing. If neither of these apply then clean the heck out of the trigger group and try it again.

Are you dry firing it or actually firing it?
Thanks for your response. Dry fired and actually fired. No benefit from either.
Inertia block moves backwards and forwards on centre axis of gun without doing anything. If I want to move it from one hanging seer to the other one I have to physically move the toggle switch in the safety. Also if block is moved Left and right it just switches the toggle from one side to the other.
Everything has been stripped down and thoroughly cleaned.
It had been suggested to me that some Lanbers were built like this and if a second shot is wanted to be fired the toggle had to be moved with thumb physically. This person said he reduced the spring pressure under the toggle switch to make it easier for a fast second shot.
Thanks

I think you need to have a gunsmith inspect it... when one barrel is fired the recoil should switch to the other barrel. I have never seen a single trigger with a selector work any other way. Something is wrong. On occasion a bit of wear can cause too tight of a tolerance and the second sear fails to engage.

I had a couple of Lanbers as my first foray into the O/U world. Both were selective inertia triggers and both worked well...as they were supposed to Got them eons ago from big Tony at what is now inter-surplus firearms.
IMHO...Guntech is bang on...you need to get it checked out..there is something wonky donky there.
