Which would be a better buy. A older Lanber for $400 or a slightly used Yildiz for $600. I don't know anything about the Lanber but from other comments they seem to be very good value shotguns.

Lada or Yugo? Other posts are making car analogies today, so here's mine, I'd stay away from both, and don't get me going on the Silver Reserve!

Lanber...This is one shotgun I want to shoulder, but who in Canada carries them? Over the years I've read nothing but good things about their O/U's. Made in Spain, in the firearm business for 400 years.
If it fits you well, $400 sounds like a darn reasonable deal to me.

If you do soem shopping around, you could probably find a decent 12g o/u yildiz brand new for under 600 bucks...

My vote is for the Yildiz -- the inporter Wide North stochs parts in country.
But --- that being said --- buy the one that fits you best. A shotgun that fits so that it's fast to the shoulder and pionts wher you look (without searching for a sight picture) is worth more to you than the most expensive you can buy that doesn't fit.
Cheers/ luck
