Hey folks I'm new to the site, it looks awesome!

I'm looking for an good entry market O/U and I saw the Stoger O/U 12+20 guage combo.

Are these available in Canada and if so from where...?

I saw on another US web forum a fellow said for a few extra hundred to purchase the "Lanbers".

I've never heard of them.

Any suggestions....?

Is the condour 12+20 worth the bucks (to be used mostly for upland, some ducks and some trap/skeet)?

Thanks in advance folks!

Lanber is a Spanish made gun that isn't very common in Canada. I don't know of anyone bringing them in. They are more common in the UK and quite highly regarded as an entry level o/u.

From what I've seen of the rare samples here and those in Britain is that they are not bad guns at all and one I'd rather own than the Stoeger Condor.

As for the Stoeger why spend the money on a 12/20 combo when what you end up with is a very heavy 20 gauge? I'd suggest getting a 12 gauge and one of higher quality than the Condor.

Hey claybuster thank you for that info. This is the sort of feedback I'm looking for as I don't want to make a poor decision.

Any suggestions for a better value priced O/U...?

My idea of a good starter o/u is a used but not abused Beretta or Browning with 3" chambers, a minimum of 28" barrels (preferably 30") and choke tubes. One of these will probably be in the $1,100-$1,800 range. That might be a little more than you intended to spend but you don't go wrong buying a quality gun.

In new guns the Ceasar Guerini guns are nice and I know several people who are quite happy with them. The CZ guns are recent additions to the market that are worth a look.

I'd search some of the old threads both on this forum and in the skeet and trap section. The most important thing with a shotgun is how it fits and feels in your hands. Pick up as many as you can and fire them if possible. You'll eventually find the one you like.
