hi, there.

Could anyone tell me whether it is legal to lend a gun to someone you are hunting with.

Have a friend with no PAL/POL.
Would like to go hunting with him.
Is it legal to lend him a firearm, assuming that I will be with him at all times ???

We are in Alberta.

Could someone shed some light on this please...

Thanks alot...

Regards,

Yes it's legal. I believe they say you're supposed to be close enough to control the other hunter/shooter. If it's a newbie, that means arms length ( or is it arm's length?). If you know them to be a safe gun handler, that could mean within earshot?

Grouse, ducks, geese, deer?

I checked the regs cause I friend of mine was not sure if he would receive his aquisition's license before the season starts. It is basically stated that you can lend it to him as long as he is under your direct supervision and that he has his hunting card + deer tag. I'm in Quebec where they always like to be different for some stupide reason so I would double check your local regs. Cheers :)
