Landsborough Auctions Using deceptive AI images

now i'm looking at everything
one lot with a Win 94 , two different pics showing a tang sight with different parts missing, neither show a complete sight

Other pics seem to have some quality enhancement going on, while others are taken from across the room

That's a ridiculous statement. They literally posted pictures, and every single one has been "enhanced" or entirely faked by AI.
Read the terms.....

'We strongly recommend personally viewing any item you bid on.'

and

'Landsborough Auctions, nor the consignor, makes any representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the title, merchantability, fitness or condition of the property or as to the correctness of description, authenticity, attribution, provenance ............'

That all gets thrown out the window if they have doctored, lied, embellished any of the info etc etc.

Imagine hosting an online auction with fake photos then using this term & condition as excuse....
Like, bruh...Do you understand the difference between a scam and an auction??

Pretty terrible. Most of the photos aren't just touched up, they're significantly doctored/generated with AI.

One of the Marlins gets pretty funky, the rear sight becomes part of the receiver, and the forend becomes very short on one of the close ups.

Not sure if any of you caught this. They opened up only the 4th session a few days ago. I saw bids going in and then they just yanked everything and removed all the lots. Fast forward and they posted the 1st 3 sessions but not the 4th until later. Lots of strange goings-on.

Not my CC but I had to re-enter my PAL number.
Something fishy there.
I'm sure I'm not the first one to do so but, I've sent them a message asking them to explain themselves.
I wonder. if a person won a lot and then found the pictures were in no way representative of the product once it was received - could you file a fraud claim with your CC company and get payment reimbursed?

I have a long history with Landsborough as both a buyer and seller. Unless there is a damn good explanation coming soon Landsborough Auctions and Triggers and Bows will never see another consignment or dollar from me.

It's pretty clear they have used a photo editor to get rid of the back ground and it's not gone well...... especially with the first photo of LE sniper which seems to be an amalgam of a number of pictures. Not sure if 's AI or that it makes a difference the result is a loss of trust. Unfortunate.

"A Chinese Type 53 carbine with both Chinese and Russian markings typically indicates that the rifle was built using Soviet-supplied parts, underwent a military/arsenal rebuild, or was assembled from surplus components."
Did you ask AI for that? Because all Type 53s are built in or after, get this, 1953. They all bear the factory code of 296 (later abbreviated to 26).

China also didn't stamp Chinese receiver markings on their existing Soviet aid Mosins, even after refurbishing. They usually write their unit marks on the stock instead.
