Lanolin Liquid...

Methyl hydrate is very poisonous. Fumes are bed but absorption through the skin is ususally what poisons people. I wouldn't use it.
 
Lanolin can be found at most local health stores, it is used for chapped skin and for the ladies during breast feeding. It comes in cream and liquid "NOW Solutions" sell it in a 4 oz bottle, about 12 bucks. Cut it with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and it will net you about 4 liters of product that will last a lifetime. It beats the hell out of buying a can of spray lube for 10+ bucks per.
 
Just back from a trip to Wpg. Shoppers Drug on Pembina was the only store I found that had 99% Isopropyl. $4.50/500ml. Its behind the counter and they asked what I wanted it for.
 
Gents, if you want to cut the costs you can use "brake line drier", it is methyl hydrate based. It will cost approx 9.99 at Cdn Tire(Home Depot as Methyl Hydrate) for a 3.78l jug. It will mix with the lanolin or castor. Yes it is poisonous if consumed and it will sting in an open cut. If you have a tray to spray the casings on hen there is minimal skin contact, if you are worried use nitrile gloves. Let it evaporate and then the harm is gone and only the oil remains. The miniscule amount you are spraying will evaporate easily, it is no more flammable than rubbing alcohol. There is a minor odor, and I do mean minor. Methyl hydrate is an alcohol, just not meant for human consumption. Hell I have washed my hands in it to get grease off of them, cuts will sting and it will dry your skin out but with the lanolin or castor oil in it there is minimal harm. I say minimal because the only harm is ingestion and we all had a friend growing up that wasnt to swift and didnt listen. LOL
 
BTW Smcx, methyl hydrate has minimal odor. You might be thinking of mineral spirits, acetone, paint thinner or another product that has a high V.O.C. You are right if you use those other as a dilutant then there will be lots of odor and fumes not to mention highly flammable product in the area.
 
Tried the lanolin with 99% alcohol. Why didn't I know this before? I was never happy with any other way of lubing my cases. This took away all the work. Its awsome. I love it! And its cheap just like me!

Just got some of dragon lube/phisroy great great guy to deal with. 21$ for a large 12 oz container of pure anhydrous lanolin. I think it is Worth it.
