Mounting a Vortex Viper PST 1-4 on my AR using a Burris PEPR 30mm mount. I'm inclined to think that lapping the rings will not be necessary. Your thoughts...?
If you have the tools to check it would take less time check then to post a thread so I'm guessing you don't have a lapping kit...
Put the scope in the lower saddles, give it a rock test, if it looks straight chances are it's pretty damn close as is... A one piece mount unless built by NCStar is going to be pretty damn true.
I do have the kit. It makes even contact but how it appears is no guarantee of how well it will stay. I'm just wondering if lapping is a common practice on this type of setup.
I'm running a Leupy Mk2 cantilever on an RFB, haven't had my 3x9 slip yet... If I had a lapping bar I'd run a couple quick passes for added traction but that's just me.
