I think that Recceman has a good idea (if hard to impliment). Wouldn't it be nice if a group of us owned some tools? Things like lapping rods, range rods, bolt disassembly tools, Go/No-go/Field guages, that sort of thing. Tools that last practically forever and that most of us will only use once every few years. Sort of a "tool library".

That wouldn't be that big of a problem. Your "library card" costs something like $100. Everything you return is looked at, and any repairs/replacment comes out of that. And you can't borrow again until your card is brought back to $100. Normal wear-and-tear is exempt because eventually everything wears out.
