Lapua 22-250 brass

One customer has complained about Lapua 22-250 brass, but the measurements supplied were within CIP specifications.

Are there any others having issues with Lapua 22-250 brass.

What were they complaining about? I have been running this brass now with 5 reloads on them and no issues to report. Maybe a bad lot?

could you please elaborate on what his complaints were. Iv run many diff calibers using lapua brass, from different lots and never had a problem. Im wondering if his rifle had a min spec / neck turn chamber that he may not know about if he purchased the rifle used..

willing to bet that the bases of his brass bulged up pretty bad due to a north American chamber reamer........first thoughts would have been bad chamber job thinking the barrel was off center when the chamber was cut..........just my guess though........

Brass is difficult to extract after firing. He states load is not hot, but it's hard to say. Strange that it's still within CIP specs after firing.

start by degreasing the chamber..... what is the length of fired brass after resizing? if he has oil in the chamber it will aid the brass in growing, also a little trick used when fire forming brass cases to a new case, such as 220 Russian to 6 PPC to get maximum case growth.
Also check the neck diameter after firing, might not be enough clearance in the chamber and could be a turn neck, although not likely anything is possible when your not the original owner.......

ask for a picture of his primers...............and his load data. your idea of not hot and my idea of not hot may not hold up against each other very well in a side by side comparison.....

A bit off the OP's topic, but I have had issues with 2 boxes of Lapua 260 brass - the necks, straight out of the box, measured 17-19 thou thick - i didn't check this at first, and my min loads for workup were showing major pressure signs. Once this was noticed, and necks trimmed, all was good.
I contacted the gsmith, and my chamber neck was reamed to 0.298", and before neck trimming I was shoving .298 -.302 loaded rounds into the chamber (hence the difficult closing!) which caused the pressure spike.

I noticed - when forming .250 Savage - that the case capacity was noticeably less than W-W factory .250 Savage brass. As you know a smaller case capacity = higher pressure with a given charge.
