I have been looking at this brass. I have the large primer already but thought why not try something different.
What are the benefits? How are you getting around the de-capping due to the smaller flash hole?

Thanks

I just put the decapping rod/pin into a drill press and sanded it smaller. This is not a precision tool.

I run SR and LR Lapua in my 308. I like the SR for the hot summer matches... I run LR for the fall

If you need brass, bullets, let me know

Thanks

Jerry

If you shoot in cold weather you might find that ignition issues negate any advantages that might have been gained in consistency by the smaller spark. In other words, sometimes less is more and sometimes less just isn’t enough. It isn’t the first time small primers pockets got tried. I had the same go-round with BRs.

Where there is a real difference is the small primer pockets leave more meat in the case head, and they last longer with the extremely overloaded .308s that have become common in FTR. The SR pockets are better suited for doing something that you probably shouldn’t be doing in the first place. ;)
