Lapua 6.5 CM Brass in Canada

This brass has been held up by bureaucracy. There is a large container due this month which would have been here, but powder is included in the shipment and, although previously approved by ERD NRCAN, some VihtaVuori had to go though an authorization process again. We then had to apply to have it added to our explosives importation licence.

It is even worse than that, as Halifax Port Authourity had a moratorium on allowing DG products until they could institute a "safe" policy. One of the two container piers will now allow shipments after Halifax approves(must apply) but now most shipping lines will not handle DG due to this BS. The Finns finally found a shipping line that will ship to Halifax through Denmark and cost is 23,000 +/- EUR instead of the original 10,900 EUR.

At the moment the plan is to send following together in one 40” container:
- Vihtavuori Powder
- Lapua Centerfire ammunition, brass and bullets (your standard orders)
- X edit .338 Lapua Magnum order (2 x X edit)
The price would be about 23 000 EUR and the container would be ready for dispatching at the beginning of June."

Could write a book on this but we hope all get the picture.

OK, bottom line is it sounds like the stuff isn't even shipped. It is still parked in an order that has yet to be fulfilled? Why not split out the stuff on order that is causing the problem, ship it later once the bureaucracy has been dealt with, and get the rest of the stuff on the shelves here? That 'problem' portion of the order could also ship once cleared with a "top up" order of items since which have been sold or are low on stock.
 
Why not ship to Quebec or Montreal and truck it back to Halifax? You're talking 12000EUR diff on cross atlantic shipping alone! Unless it's the same BS in those ports also.
 
Order is shipped and thanks for business advice. Sending non-DG to Halifax would cost 10.9K EUR and then it would be another 23K EUR for DG container. As mentioned, now it's the shipping lines that are difficult to impossible due to CAD paperwork.

We had logistic peoples on 2 continents working on this.

Thanks for the update Peter. We appeiciate the work you guys do to get this stuff in for us. Im sure we'll all survive using Hornady brass for few more months.

23,000 Euro for a 40 inch container is preposterous.
 
Agreed on container price but the regular lines won't handle DG due the increased work caused by Canadian bureaucracy.

Regarding selling price, it will be less than some other offerings.
