So I am doing some load developement for my brothers 6.5 Creedmoor with some 139 gr Lapua OTM Scenars. So thought I would try some in my 6.5-06 at the same time.I have always shot 140 VLD Target Bergers and have no complaints with them ,I worked it up to 51.2 grs and made 1 hole with 3 shots at 100.So made 10 of these and went over to the buddies range.I shot 2 shots at 1200 yards and drove out and checked them,They were around 6" apart.Went back and shot another 2 and they were 10" apart then shot another 2 and they were 8" apart.I was very happy with them as they did about what the bergers did but $15 cheaper per 100 and they wasn't as much difference in the length as the bergers(I measure overall length)
I have bin using Lapua brass for quite awhile (30-06 necked down to 6.5 ) and have shot them 5 or 6 times and decided to do the H20 capacity test.I had 50 shot cases so I trimmed them all the same and chamfered and deburred them and did the capacity test they were 67.5 grs to 67.9 grs capacity,so I was pretty impressed with that also .I will be buying the Lapua bullets on the next order.
Does anyone use the Scenars for hunting and if so how are they on game.
Cheers
