im on the 4th loading of some 338 cases, and im getting a bunch of them that the neck tension is not sufficient to hold the bullet so i can pull them by hand,, i have tried sizing with out the expander ball, but it still seems too loose... any one have this happen? annealing fix the problem? as much of a pain in the ass as that is? im using forster benchrest dies. this is also purchaced as once fired brass, maybe not so once fired but no way for anyone to know. I do have a box of brand new brass read to go but im not using it because i dont want it mixed by accident with the old stuff

Try measuring the OD of a loaded round for indications of thin necks. Short of this the only other thing I can think of is udersized bullets! Does the brass show any indication of having been neck turned?
I have used the 338 LM brass and never had any problem with it.

no indication of neck turning and walls are consistant, Im going to try and maybe full size them again and see what happens, im reading what i originaly wrote, I dont think i mentioned i was only neck sizing by adjusting a full lenght die a fraction above the ram.. im lowering the die a bit and going to resize some of the rejects...
