Question.

Found a source for once fired. Apparently it comes from Lapua. Has anyone else bought once fired from someone with contacts at lapua?

Tell me what you think.

Lack of trust. Its hard to tell if it was fired once or if it was fired many times.

When a guy constantly has once fired for sale I tend to believe him, unless he has a 338 Lapua machinegun and a commercial reloading machine chances are it probably is once fired. If you have been on here for a while you know who I am talking about and I don't doubt his word.

I've been here for a bit but I don't know who your talking about.

If the brass is coming from a good source then there should be no issue at all.

Lapua .338 ammo has a sealer that turns red when its fired. If the sealant is still there its once fired. If its not it may have been fired more than once. Not sure if companies like federal who are using Lapua brass in their factory match ammo do the same though.

I have bought both new and once fired .338 Lapua Brass.

Trader rating is key. If you have no way to determine if the guy is an honest guy or a sleezeball... stay away and keep your money safe.

Lapua brass is expensive. So yeah thats even more reason to be careful that it is once fired.

The other reason I ask is (and I may not have made that clear) the dealer said the brass came from Lapua itself as once fired. I'm fairly confident but this last point got me thinking.

cheers!

Nammo Lapua Oy does not sell once-fired brass. We'll refrain from other commenting on other misinformation at this time.

All of the 1xf Lapua brass I have ever recieved (1000+ pieces) has been of the highest quality. All of it weighed in at + or - 2 gr. of each other...... Thats right grains! on a case that weighs 375 gr.

I have purchased brass form 3 different sellers in the EE.

I'm pretty sure (not positive, but pretty sure) that all of the brass that has passed through my hands first went through a military rifle. So I am pretty confident that it is actually 1xf......

But then I'm part scottish........

They say 8 to 10 depending on how hot the load is.

THIS alone makes the 338 Lapua Improved an even more worthwhile consideration to anyone looking to buy or build a 338 Lapua. I just finished reloading my 338 LAI casings for the 36th time last week. AND my 300 gr SMKs leave the barrel at 3065 FPS, there is not a SAAMI or CIP 338 Lapua loading on the planet that will touch that.:D
