LAR 10 or ATRS AT15 223/5.56 10 round pistol mag ?

Can anyone tell me who carry the AT15 mag? Which vendor?

alberta tactical rifle sells them, he has another lot coming in.... blacks and fde i believe.

I own 10 of the atrs mags and they are 200x better then the LAR's so far, work without alteration in my Daniel Defence and going to try them in my stag arms tommorow.

they are approx. 1.5-2 inches shorter in height then a 30 round USGI magazine.

Wow...I have ten LAR mags, six of them have the Magpul followers swapped in, and all of them have been flawless in both of my AR's (custom Stag lefty and righty). I have recently bought four AT15 mags...so far, I've only been able to try them out on my righty AR (SBR), and they haven't been perfect. The gas key came a little loose on my SBR because the bolts weren't staked properly. Have them staked now and will give them another try.

I've never had any problems with my LAR mags...I'll be keeping them for sure.

Do the ATRS AT15 mags work in the Tavor?

Sure do. No issues with that combo. I plan on buying more once they have stock.

My vote goes to the AT15 over the LARs for sure. Especially for the Tavor (CAA, the company that makes these mags for Alberta Tactical, is now making mags that come with US Tavors).

I had a chance to run one of these at my last SR match and was pleased to discover that they are in fact long enough to monopod off of. Of course, the reason for that is that you're shooting off a mound. It doesnt work on a flat bench, but, at Borden, Amiens at least, I can get low enough and use them. Sure beats the LAR's with extensions, which I've been having problems with as of late. Even better is that in the kneeling position, the ATRS mags are the perfect height for resting on the knee, and being a flat base, rather comfortable.

Clear winner so far.

I completely agree with this except for one key point. Make sure to square off the back of the magazines. Use a standard LAR/USGI mag as the comparison so you don't damage your Tavor.

Quoted from another thread I posted in

The U/V shape at the back of the feed lips opening, where the follower hits the bolt hold open latch, needs to be squared up like USGI mag. If you don't the bolt hold open can hit on the mag body just enough that it will cause the bolt hold open arm to move up ever so slightly, causing wear and possibly a stoppage.

Yup! Forgot to mention that too. I did squre off the back of the mags to be U shaped instead of V.

However, Alberta Tactical indicated that the next shipment will have this modification already done (they requested CAA to change the molding), as well as making the mag indent a bit larger to fit more AR lowers from different manufacturers.

All good news to me!
