LAR 10 or ATRS AT15 223/5.56 10 round pistol mag ?

I don't think extensions are available but I think the new mags might be longer

Why would they be? Are they going to be a different design? What have you seen?
Seems to be around 1 3/4" difference between 20's and 30's (Pmags); I have not handled CAA mags.
20's length seem handy to allow you to get a little more prone, but I want a standard length for all of my mags. The 3d printed lar mag extensions have had positive reviews, and seem to facilitate this. I'm sure the ATRS lar mags are going to be nice, but I am tempted to do the extension combo instead.

What are the chances of these accepting some sort of extension, to make them the same handling length as a 30 rounder?

That won't work as the AT mags are made to prevent disassembly.

For those guys wondering about the new design, this is from the ATRS thread on these mags:

An update on our mags.
Got this in an email today, hopefully it explains better what is going on. We were just advised that they are making changes to the mag bodies.
He sent photos but I need help to move them from his email to here. We the smarter guys come back to work on Tuesday, I will get 1 of them to put them up.

"Hello Rick and thank you for your mail,

First and foremost, I would like to apologize for keeping quiet for the past
couple of weeks.

However, there was a reason for that:

During the inspections of both your 20/10 round magazine, as well as the
standard 20-round magazine, we came to an understanding that it would be
better if we change its construction to an oval shape – just like the
standard reliable 30-round magazine – so to avoid a few problems we have
encountered with it – some of these, the problems you have described – AND
to come up with a reliable 10-rounder at the end.
The situation as it is now, is that we have injected a few preliminary
magazines to T&E them, with and without the 10-round blocker, also by
shooting with them. This should take place during this week.

If all goes right, we shall inject a preliminary production batch from which
I will send you a few to test them out.
If you approve these, we will inject the, 1,5000 you have ordered with your
"AT-10 logo and send these to you ASAP.

All this process should take about 3 to 4 weeks from now.

Respectfully
Hayim"

For the troops at ATRS, :)

Wow...I have ten LAR mags, six of them have the Magpul followers swapped in, and all of them have been flawless in both of my AR's (custom Stag lefty and righty). I have recently bought four AT15 mags...so far, I've only been able to try them out on my righty AR (SBR), and they haven't been perfect. The gas key came a little loose on my SBR because the bolts weren't staked properly. Have them staked now and will give them another try.

I've never had any problems with my LAR mags...I'll be keeping them for sure.

I've since had my gas key bolt on my SBR properly torqued and staked...and the AT15 mags have all ran flawlessly...all four of them...with no mods. Also ran well on my lefty Stag.

:)
