LAR 15 10/30rd mags?

I can't tell you what CanAm may or may not get... I simply don't know.

I can tell you that the LAR-15 10 round magazines are made for us and distributed by Questar to dealers across Canada.

I can also tell you that before the current LAR-15 10 round design was reviewed and approved by RCMP as a "legal" 10 round capacity Pistol magazine, we submitted to them a prototype version for approval that was a 10 round pistol magazine utilizing a mag body the same length as a 30 round magazine.

We were told, in writing and in no uncertain terms that no 30 round magazine body design could be created, designed or manufactured that RCMP/CFC would not consider to be a "Rifle Magazine". They stated categorically that any such design would be classified as Prohibited Devices and that they would lay charges for possession of Prohibited Devices.

Not wanting to be a "test case" and spend the next several years and thousands of dollars fighting them in court, we simply dropped the 30/10 design and went with the 10 round dedicated design that was approved.

Unless they've changed their position I can't see how these can be legal and that's why I said I'd really like to see the written "approval" stating they are now considered NOT prohibited devices. If they have made such a decision I'll happily bring in thousands of them... we still have the equipment used for the original prototypes... but not until they put it in writing.

Best of luck to CanAm... hope he gets them.

Did Questar sell CanAm the normal LAR15 10 round magazines that he shows as inventory I wonder? If not I wonder where he got them and if "those" ones will be considered legal or not. That's something to consider.

Canada Ammo does stock the Questar imported 10 round AR15 223 pistol mags, and they are listed on his site.

He also carries the couplers which turn these into a coupled 10 round mag with the same shape as a 30 round mag ... very convenient for those with 30 round mag pouches.

I note also that he has a special deal offered on a complete set, which includes 2 mags and a coupler .... IIRC its $100 plus tax, and shipping is free.

As to the 10/30 mags, I suggest you contact him or wait for his response on this thread.

Hello,

I remember CanAm told me a long time ago that "they" we working on "their own" LAR15 10 round magazine. So I was wondering if these were "their own" or if they were imported by Questar and sold to him.

the whole think can be described as our law are created by ostriches with their head buried in the sand or over zealous "political correctness" you can use it, but just don't call it what it truly is.

CanAm did get a shipment of LAR-15 10 round magazines from us...

As for the 30/10 magazines I know nothing about those beyond what I've posted earlier.

Interesting how the CanAm site lists:

Customers who bought this product also bought the following products:
Sight Upgrade, MARS, for Tavor Rifle
Mora Clipper Belt Knife
Glock G22 Pistol - Night Sights
Scope, 4X, for Tavor
Mount, Sight, Picatinny, For Tavor

As if people have already bought them out of what they had in stock.........

Well it seems that the Lar15 30/10 mags are not available nor ever will be. What about Lar15 (20)/10 rounders for those with the cool old SP1s.

I thought C-Products manufactured the 10rd mags just for the RRA LAR-15 pistol and it has to have the laser etching. Questar got approval to sell them because they sold the RRA LAR-15 pistol. I highly doubt this is the same case.

Many other places are selling the LAR-15 magazine, and they do not carry the RRA LAR-15 pistol.
