LAR magazine springs

Do I need to remove my ammo from LAR mags stored for short term, say 6 months? I know most mil spec mags won't make a difference but I wonder if I'm going to run into problems with LAR mag spring. Thanks.

I have never had an issue storing loaded mags for long periods of time. Some people say they have.

Do your own experiment: take two LAR mags and leave one loaded and one empty, and in six months, shoot them both and see if you have any issues

Springs do not wear by simply compressing them... They wear when they are compressed and then release compression over and over again.

And don't store them in an oven. Heat, corrosion, and metal fatigue are the springs enemy.

If you are concerned, maybe take a few types of mags, leave them loaded for 6 months, and compare them to mags you left unloaded and unused for the same length of time.
