LAR mags Do they have to be labelled as such ?

Thought it better to resurrect this thread than start a new one.

I can't find any anecdotal commentary one way or the other on the legality of the MFT mags (sold by nearly every online gun retailer). They don't appear to be marked as pistol mags. Are people running a risk with these, or is it common knowledge amongst law enforcement that these 10 round mags regardless of markings are legit?

Is there any documentation one could carry if stopped by an uninformed LE officer? I guess you could print the receipt for the purchase and hope that the word "pistol" in the product description is satisfactory.

Thoughts?

All of my MFT LAR15 mags have pistol mag LAR15, XCM engraved on them. A few stores used the generic picture from MFT which does not have the engraving but all MFT 10 round mags in canada have the LAR15 pistol engraved on them. otherwise they would be pinned to 5

This reminds me of the Hexmag debacle. Stamped incorrectly for 10 rnd pistol mag usage but made it into the country. Lots of gun shops selling, then the hammer dropped and we all had to pin them to 5. *sigh*

All because they put "pistol/carbine" on the engraving. D'oh.

hey, can't ask for too much, since ya know, a lowly rivet is all that keeps us from being criminals also...

Just imagine, if you paint your mag and it covers up the 'for a pistol' lettering.. are you a criminal? Is it prohibited??
