kombi1976, I used my Ruger M77 MkII .338WM w/ Federal Premium 225gr TBBC loads. Two 6x5 bulls were across a canyon, bugling & following cows into the timber (a third bull had already left) The larger bull stopped moving while quartering away at a "little" over 300 yards :roll: I was already prone and resting the rifle over our packs so the sight picture was clear and steady as a benchrest 8) Practice, patience & the right equipment for the job is what works for me :wink: ...KF

Nice bull elk KF. I like your choice of calibers, i use a 338WM in a Rem.700 with 225 partitions, great for elk and moose. Congrats on your elk.

Here is one that I guided. Mike from Montana is the hunter. And yes that is a bullet hole in the horn, second shot. Custom .300 wby, Christensen Arms carbon barrel w/ muzzle brake. 180 gr Barnes Triple X. Called him in to about 60 ft. We also harvested another bull 1.5 hours earlier and he is lying about 100ft away from this picture.

Here is couple pics of my buck, from this morning. 8) Shot him with muzzleloader, 250 grain .45 cal XTP in front of two 777 pallets. Perfect broad side shot thru both lungs. Range about 65 yds, he ran for about 40 yds and hit the ground. Field dressed 232 lbs at butchers. And rack in 140's. 8) :lol: 8) :twisted:

Are "primitive arms" allowed in bow season in the Saskabush? Just curious as we have a couple primitive arms areas in Alberta but they aren't open till November.
Your seasons must open before ours :roll: , what on earth will you look for now?

Muzzleloader oct 1st - dec 4th .
Shotgun nov 1st - dec 4th.

No rifles allowed around city, but it is close to me, 15 minutes from my driveway until I park in front of pasture 8) .

What am I going to hunt now :?: Still got doe tag, than there is upland, coyotes.... and filming
