So this was my year at the camp. We had two deer down on opening day, both scored by the oldest fella and driven right to him.

The next day on the first run of the day I heard the rumble of a running deer behind me. I swung, cocked the hammer and slammed what ended up being a yearling low in the lungs. He landed about 20 yrds from the hit site. I walked over to him and confirmed he was expired.

I then waited for the other members of the run to come and join. I then noticed another deer moving around where I was standing before. I dropped to one knee for a steady shot. He must have heard me because he turned and took two giant leaps then stopped to see what the noise was. I got him in the sites and put one right through the heart.

We knocked another doe down the next day and that was our party tagged out.

I was shooting a Winchester 30 - 30.

My first ever Antelope, 7 years of applying, two days, one shot. I actually skipped two days of class at the U of A and succeeded in not doing two assignments each worth 5% of my total mark in 2 different classes... worth it!

Here are a couple pictures of a little 2 year old bull taken in Northern Ontario in October '09. We each put a shot into it, a first for both of us.
