Large Game Pics - Deer, Moose, Bear...

I've had a pretty ok season. Got lots of time in the field this fall. It started Sept 1 on a draw archery tag hunt. We hunted through some pretty crappy wet and cold weather and passed up on some pretty nice bucks thinking we could do better. I had a nice 190" non typical at 25 yards one day and it would have been a chip shot but I was being greedy and holding out for a 200. Well that didn't happen and I ended up shooting a smaller buck with the muzzleloader in October. It was still a fun hunt and I learned a lot as I always do in archery season. Got a lot of good pictures of bucks through the spotting scope.

then got a week long moose hunt in in the Bush which was a great time with good weather but no moose sightings.

Whitetail season was short and sweet. I only had two days to fill a tag and picked this guy out of the fog on the morning of the second day.

All in all it was a good year and we wont go hungry this winter.

Me and my wife after a successful muzzle loader hunt this morning in eastern Ont. I had to go back get her on the atv to help me drag him out. My health isn't the best so my days of dragging deer any distance are finished although I still get excited when a buck comes in. I shot him at about 70 yds and he ran another 100yds into a swamp so it was quite a haul for both of us to get him where the atv was.:d thumbnail_IMG_1699.jpg

I had an amazing 2018 season, it started off back home in Quebec. I was visiting family and had a couple days free to hunt so I made the best of it by bagging this nice tom. It was my first turkey hunt since I had moved out west a few years ago.

Not too long after turkey season, I filled my bear tag here in Saskatchewan (notice the rain suit to keep the mosquitoes from drilling me through my clothes).

Then I made my first hunting trip across the border to Wyoming for a solo DIY public land Pronghorn Antelope hunt. I used to dream of Antelope hunting, well I am now officially OBSESSED with them and will try to make it a yearly trip. Low cost for a tremendous amount of fun and some amazing meat.

I got home right on time to hunt the last two days of OTC Archery Mule Deer back in Saskatchewan and got this guy on the last evening of the season.

I finished it off with rifle Whitetail Deer season in Saskatchewan and got this 11 point buck (not 5x6, I'm from out east, deal with it ;)).

I was lucky to have a crazy amount of time off during the hunting season this past fall. On top of the animals I harvested myself, I "hosted" my brother and father in-law for their yearly non-res WT deer hunt here in Saskatchewan, my brother bagged a really nice 12pt buck during archery season and my father in-law a decent 8pt buck later on during the rifle season. On top of that, I helped two buddies who were struggling to bag nice 10 and 8pt bucks as well as an other friend who decided not to shoot any of the dozen or so bucks we had seen that day. Overall, time well wasted.

Success always breeds success. Heading back to Quebec and going to check into Turkey hunting this spring. Congratulations on a very successful season.

Here's the six point I got this year with the Marlin 336 in 35Rem. First one I've taken with no brow tines.

Called in to about 100 yds. Sept 25, 2018. He came right to us, grunting the whole way. Was an awesome display.
My son, who was 12 at the time, was beside me the entire time. What a great experience to share with my boy!

Deer Hunting Fall 2017 - Buck Shot By Mark_800x600.jpg

180 lbs field dressed whitetail buck. My first one. One shot with my Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 in 270 Winchester. I was using 140 grain Hornady SST Superformance ammo. It was a 150 yard shot at dusk during the November Deer rifle season in Northern Ontario in 2017.
