I grew up with my mom having shot the only buck I had ever seen antlers for, hunted since age 5 and am now over 30. I guess I still consider it as normal size and anything else smaller is small to me.

Tagged this guy this morning. He was grunting like crazy chasing a doe. They busted me when I first raised my rifle to take a shot. ~ 30 mins later they came back, after getting into a fight with another buck with much taller tines but less width. ~70 yards, quatering almost head on. 140gr Accubond from a 7mm-08 mountain rifle. Shot went went in high chest/lower neck, grazed his spine, turned his lungs to jelly, and hit his lower ribs. He dropped like a sack of potatoes.

Steve a new client of mine bagged this Fallow Buck this morning with a .243. He is waiting for his 7mm08 to be delivered!

Last Tuesday, 10:30 in the rain...

this fella went bounding across the old logging road I was on...stopped about 80yds up in the hardwoods, I got out and the SIG SHR .300WM with a Winchester 150gr XP3 thru the neck dropped him in a pile where he stood.

I would have been carrying the 7mm-08 but hate to take that pretty wood stock out in the rain ...

The rack is 8pts but very fine tines, he dressed at 172lbs but the bucher got 129lbs of meat 'off the bone' for me. Gotta get my canning gear out now!:D

This Buck was shot by one of the other Hunters in my group, ended up tracking him down, and finished him off with the SKS!

B.C. Big Buck

Shot this buck while moose hunting. I got a bull moose the week before so we were out trying to fill the rest of our group draw. My friend and his son were trying to call in a bull that wouldn't come out of the bush, while my son and I waited about 100yds away. This buck came in from behind us with a doe and I couldn't pass him up.

Nice looking buck, they so 80% of getting something is been out their, the other 20% is your skill/luck.

Cheers
