My first Buck

This is my second season hunting and my first buck. Mines the one on top got him with my Remingtion 770 7mm Rem-mag at like 30 feet. he walked up on me lol

The top pic is last week(ignore time stamp)

No 2 and No 3 are possibly the same buck from 2010.Maybe off spring.

Not sure if I will ever get the chance at him, but he is fine to look at either way!

Had to contribute something to commemorate my first deer hunt. None of the 5x hanging behind me are mine, but it felt great to get the M14 into the bush. Maybe next year I'll get my first!

I thought I was going to get skunked this season as it ends tomorrow but last night I got off work a bit early and the call of the wild seized me. As I drove to my regular spot I saw a buck on the edge of the trail. I hopped out and fired. It was dark in 30 minutes and I didn't even think i hit him as I couldn't find hair or blood.

Next morning I found a little hair further up but no blood. I tracked him for 300 yds and still no blood. Finally I found him where he laid down.

Great season!

It was a gut shot unfortunately, all full of blood. First time for that. Exit hole was on the right side, entrance is still a question, there was a small hole on the bottom of the belly but I would have had to be under him to hit him there??

It all happened so fast maybe he was wheeling around at the same time I shot and his belly was toward me?

Wow,

I thought this was a prairie buck. Get that beast scored and it should find it's way in the NS records books. I believe 174 6/8 is the provicial record for NS (Neil Oickle, 1985).

Deer were small this year in 45, we got three 5 pts, a 7 pt and a baby, bwaaa bwaaaa...

Here is my first buck. Taken with my Ruger MKII .308 on Nov 19. He came out with 2 does when we were doing a run and I got him with one shot through the shoulder angling up into the spine. He dropped like a tonne of bricks! Missed the 2 does though - got razzed by the guys quite a bit about that. 18 pts.
