Pardon my ignorance on the AR side of things but I would like to clarify the following...

I have an older Colt upper and do not want to use a bushing with a smaller pin later style lower.

It is my understanding that the A2 style lowers may be the last of the larger pin style and they have the fixed carrier handle?

Would an older Colt, or Bushmaster etc. lower be the way to go?

Just want to get my info right before asking for one on the EE, or do I just keep it simple and ask for a large pin lower of any kind except Norinco?
( would it be that simple? )

Cheers and thanks...Paul

Finding a large pin lower will be like finding a needle in a hay stack .
You can find Colt SP1's & Ar15A2's but they will most likely be complete rifles .
If you are building a AR with a large pin upper your best bet & most economical way is to use the off set bushing .
Wolverine has them in their Armalite parts section . The trick is to Loctite the bushing it in the correct position.
Once it is set you will not even know the difference on a small pin lower .
They are not like the off set pivot pin that don't stay in the same position when using a small pin upper on a large pin lower .

As an owner of a Colt large pin lower, I will tell you they are a pain when you're looking at an aftermarket trigger.

Spend the extra and get a current generation upper/lower set.

The components from the old upper can be moved over if you like.
