Large rifle primers - retail prices

Wouldn't it be nice if Canada developed some/more(?) military/ammo manufacturing capabilities. With the millions of taxpayer money that Trudeau just promised to Ukraine yesterday, even some of that could have been used to invest in creating some manufacturing plants in Canada. Then we'd at least have something for our money, and we and Ukraine could benefit from the increased capabilities.

Will never happen. If it was up to Trudeau, he would ban rifles and ammo from our military.

My local GS (5 hrs away..lol) had 25 bricks of the RWS come in a week or so ago...sold out in minutes. 220/1000 is what he was charging...same price as Clay @ Prophet R.

Been waiting to hear or see any reports on results from the new RWS primers. Some info out there for the Ginex stuff...I'll pass on them.

looks like more RWS will be at dealers in a week or so, at a couple bucks higher prices though.....

Is that a typo "$1 each" per primer?????

negative, not a typo, he does indeed sell primers for $1 each for CCI large rifle mag and ive seen people panic buy them from him as well, i had a guy wanna buy from me , he saw some packs in the background of a pic i posted on one these forums, , offered me $200 for 500 of them.. , i thought that was excessive, but people are desperate ( no, i didnt sell.lol)

I'll be utilizing the RWS within the next 5 to 7 days. I have two 30-06's which I'm conducting load development. If I remember this thread, I'll give a report.

What have you heard specifically? I've read some people say they're tougher to seat in new brass and harder to strike, but others say they've experienced no issues at all.

Ganderite knows his stuff and he likes them. He says they're weaker than most standard large rifle primers but he's going to use them exclusively for his 7.62x51 loads, from what I remember.

Ganderite loads and shoots more ammunition than most of the active members on this board, not combined of course.

I tried a few and wasn't impressed. I'll try some for milsurp cases in milsurp rifles and see what happens.

I have some older RWS primers, same packaging as the current issue. They are definitely harder to seat than anything North American. Also, the primer body appears to be steel rather than brass - probably the reason for the tight fit.
