Certain periods of time stand out for massive spikes in sales over the last 16 years we have been around.

  • The end of the LGR
  • Feb 2014 gun buy (panic due to potential gun bans in the USA spilled over due Canada).
  • The day after the 2015 election.
  • Feb & March 2020 run on Shotguns and bulk ammo

By far though in terms of sales, the last week has eclipsed these prior periods by a huge margin. We have never seeing anything like this. Most of or regular items are gone and may not be back for months. Interesting times.

Something tells me there are waaay more licensed gun owners than the Gubmint would like their sheep to know.
I doubt that the Canadian Firearms Program is lying about the number of PAL holders, but they certainly underestimate the depth of our pockets during a good panic.
Unless gun stores are selling to un-licensed people (they aren't) this is just proof most of us love a good panic buy... I am no different lol

Other than kids, I only know two people who don’t have their PAL
Ok but in all honesty your sampling pool is pretty limited and homogeneous in rural Alberta.... I know, I am from there.

Vendors need to organize and lead the charge in starting to push back against this government thievery.

The gun orgs can't keep themselves from falling into political pockets, which only serves to paralyze this community. They are not the answer.

The vendors and businesses have the power, they just need to group up and work together.

The number of PAL holders is very accurate (just over 2.2 million)

The average number of firearm's that each PAL holder owns is wild guess and very likely grossly underestimated

You’ll be able to retire after this Marlon! Nothing but sandy beaches and piña coladas.

You’re only problem is you have to sell at retail. Now, if you were able to sell at used prices like we’re seeing in the EE lately, you could make some real money. LOL

Hey now, don't go bringing logic into this!

I gotta feelin' Trudeau is going to get the last laugh. He's not as stupid as people give him credit for.

With the old LGR data, and the new back door registry, he could keep the smelters runnin' for some time.

Anyone believing that guy is acting out his own plays is delusional at this point. Canada is on the brink of ceasing to exist as anything other than a name. The same with every country in the western world.

I've been saying this exact thing ..... speaking to the cgn echo chamber....... if every gun store , wholesaler and importing business in Canada banded together under one united pushback, their collective financial resources would absolutely be able to fund a massive pushback.
It seems by appearance most of the current court battles are being funded by donation drives from the consumer...... this will NEVER be enough.
Second to that , we have too many orgs ..... we need only one to lead this charge with the financial and legal team support of every gun store, wholesaler and importer in the nation.

until this can become a reality..... peaceful non compliance is the only other answer.
question everyone should be asking themselves is.... how's my magazine stash, how's my spare parts stash, how's my tools stash..... then how's my ammo stash.... or perhaps that should be first.
following that..... do you have all the optics you desire? Do you have any other gear or kit you need going forward? Buy it all now... or face soon to be shortages.
Reloading stuff is kinda a canary in the coalmine for gun related gear...... it's sparse and the prices have tripled at retail from prices 4 years ago and they are climbing fast.
Retailers most likely will not be loading up on new firearms going forward either and I expect to see "out of stock" on most offerings within a few months or it's already happened as evidenced by very empty inventory at many popular online retailers.
What do I need before it all sells out or jumps 30 to 50% in price by years end?
I dunno mil surplus clothing and kit, IR/Nightvision, a couple scopes still needed...... and with the price of gas...... maybe a wee little dirt bike or maybe bend the knee to the wife and get a couple hayburner pack horses LOL
