A few months back I swapped out my old Colt upper for a new LaRue Stealth. It's a great looking product but a few weeks ago the detent mechanism on the ejection port cover shook itself loose!

I don't think I've ever seen one come loose. It looks as though it had not been properly staked on. The door still functions and you'd have to physically manipulate the plunger to take it right off, so there is no chance of it falling off.

Yesterday I finally got around to swapping out the cover for another one...which was a pain in the ass and involved removing the barrel and in the process I almost lost that tiny little "C" Clip.

I'm just surprised that it left the factory that way. Anyone else ever had this problem?

I am sure Mark would send you a replacement no questions asked.

Very few companies make their own port doors, so its unlikely that ML is making them, and it was not visibly loose when it was qualified.

LT is fiercely proud of their products and I would not consider this a ding on them.

Don't get me wrong, the upper is a nice piece of gear but bottom line is it left the shop in a broken state. Just not something I would have expected from LaRue.
