I see your point. But so many other companies are happy to sell to you as long as they don't have to ship internationally. Do you need an export license to bring in a scope mount?
Anything "gun" realated over 100 dollars, needs an export permit. there are certain things (Barrels, Frame's, cylinders and a few others) that require export permits no matter the cost.
In LaRue's case i think you do, no matter....
Since so many of his optic mounts, and rails are used by the military, the US State Department has made them tricky SOB's to export, although its possible.
I had a guy here PM me that he could get LaRue stuff (probably through an exporter of some sort) with a couple weeks lead time. Mabey he'll see this and send you a PM, if not them give me a PM and i'll give you his screen name
If you want LaRue stuff, be prepared to wait a long time, althoug many people will say its worth it.
If your looking for a scope mount, check out ADM (American Defence Mfg.). SOCOM Supply is the importer for their stuff, and im very happy with my aimpoint mount

. They make very good quality mounts, for both aimpoints and regular scopes.
They have great customer service, and they will service your mount if its damaged or breaks - they will also ship replacement parts up here with no troubles

(since the parts are under 100 dollars obviously).
Its not really Mark LaRue's fault, although i do think he could do more to get stuff to Canada... Theres a huge market for it, the stuff sells out in a week or two whenever the stuff gets in (Socom Supply also imports LaRue stuff once in a while). The biggest reason, is once again, the US State Department, which thinks that all us law abiding firearms owners are "terrorists" or "enemies of the USA" or some BS.
