Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with Larue Tactical LT660 mount for the Aimpoint T1 red dot? It's gotten good reviews online but I'd like to get more feedback before I buy one.

Cheers,

Mik

I run a Laure LT660 with my Aimpoint T1 on my Tavor. Excellent Mount. Retains zero well after I switch back from a 1-4x scope.

I was planning on buying it off their site and shipping to a US address. It looks like their ordering system will allow me to do that.

You may want to re-think that plan. Are you a registered exporter of goods out of the US? With all sincerity I can recommend to you that plan is ILL advised at best. NOT worth it.

Buy an ADM mount. Tell you what - you buy me the ADM mount, and I'll trade you straight up for my LT-660. No joke.

Buy ADM instead... you are breaking few ITAR regulations if you are bringing it back to Canada.

That is very intresting Reddot.

My AD-T1-10 mount doesn't. When I tested it I noticed point of impact change every time T1 was remounted.

My apologies was crappy picture!

Shoot 1,2,3,4,5 were taken after Aimpoint w Ad-T1-10 mount was remove and then put back on the rifle.

1) Point of Aim/Impact difference 2.178 inch
2) Point of Aim/Impact difference 3.253 inch
3) Point of Aim/Impact difference 1.335 inch
4) Point of Aim/Impact difference 2.699 inch
5) Point of Aim/Impact difference 1.537 inch

* This is not a scientific test just me playing with my kit - take it for what it's worth

Greenbob,

I have never done any proper testing with my LaRue mounts. Maybe next time at the range I will do it with the T1.

That would be great Reddot !!!

I will be pissed if they hold zero and we can't buy them in Canada. On a side note if I make it to the range tomorrow I got another aimpoint mount [LRP -Lever Release Picatinny I believe] that I can test as well.

Cheers,

LaRue mounts pale in comparison to ADM (American Defense Manufacturing). I have several LaRue and several ADM and will never buy a LaRue mount again. Sure the LaRue mounts are "nice" as far as looks and such go, but the scissor style QD mounting system is inferior to the ADM mounting system, which clamps the rail evenly along the side. Much much nicer. And the recoil lug on the LaRue mounts is small, so if you use the mount on say a Benelli M4 (with Aimpoint Micro T1) it will gouge the mount lug and the rail.

And for the record, my latest build is a custom semi-auto .22LR on which I’m using a Micro T1 in an ADM mount. POI always return to zero every time I take the mount off and put it back on again!

If you are anywhere near Vancouver you are more than welcome to come over to my place and check both out on a few different rails ;)

Try shooting groups and using a quality brand of ammo..

TDC,

I don't believe Norinco ammo is to blame in this case. It grouped ok before I started mounting and un-mounting it. Another possibility is that there is something wrong with my ADM mount specifically. Have you tested this and got different results?

My apologies for the late reply..

I've removed my optic many times(both my T1 and my Trijicon) and replaced with zero POI shift(see undetectable). Both are mounted with ADM mounts. In addition to those two optics I also had a Nightforce mounted in an ADM mount that held zero as well, although it was rarely removed.

Norc ammo is notoriously inconsistent and a poor choice for anything requiring consistency. If you're unsure if your mounts are holding zero then use a better/premium ammo and work with one independent variable as opposed to two.
