I am not sure if this is the right forum but I have some questions about the laser bore sighters. I found some for sale on ebay and wonder if they work well. They are the same shape as the cartridges. you put them in the gun instead of the cartridge and the laser shines out of the bore and you set your scope to the laser point on the target. Anyone use one before and does it work? I see most of them are from china anyone order one and did you get it? I have never bought anything from china and wonder if these work or are they chinese junk?

The ones I've seen go in the muzzle.
I'm sure they work fine but are way cooler than practical.
You can accomplish the same thing with an eyeball boresighting, or just shoot one round, then adjust the optic to match where the bullet went.

You still have to shoot some rounds to final sight regardless.

IMHO LASER boresighting simply adds a step.

I bought one of the magnetic stick-on-muzzle ones, honestly expecting it to be useless, but I find I quite like it. If you frequently swap scopes around between rifles, it allows you to do so and usually be within about 1 or 1.5MOA with the new scope before even firing a shot. Boresighting doesn't give me that level of accuracy. The laser is also easy to use with any type of action, including levers and semis that are not easily or conveniently boresighted. For me, it turned out to be a surprisingly useful toy.

I have the ones that go in the chamber, they seem to work well at getting you on a normal size target at about 20 to 25 yards.set rifle up in some kind of gun vise aim rifle at a target placed at aboyt 25 yards away and adjust scope so crosshairs are centered on the dot from the laser. You might have to do this in the late afternoon or evening depending on the brightness of the laser in order to clearly see the dot. This will get you on the target at a hundred yards, and you then fine tune it to be spot on,They are really good for something that has a muzzle device that makes using the arber type difficult such as a m14 ar any thing with a brake or flash hider. There are various types available you just have to find one that is of good enough quallity to be worth while, I got my set from Frontier
