laser engraving slides and frame

I'm looking into getting a cnc laser engraver to engrave and cut slides and stippling frames. I wanted to know if there's enough of a market for it to be worth doing in Alberta? I'm hoping someone here has some info on this topic

There might be a market but is it big enough to justify all the work and effort to get a gunsmith permit for restricted firearms ? Stippling poly frames isn't to big a deal but lasing deep enough into a slide would take some fairly serious wattage. Seems like alot of money invested for a very small market.

Would you limit it to just firearms, or would you also do knives and other non shooting related items? Might give a larger market and make the enterprise more feasible.

Just an FYI, TSE already offers these services, so you would be in direct competition with them...

EM Precision in Spruce Grove just got some fancy laser thing, dont know how deep they can go, or it is just for engraving on barrels etc.
