Laser range finder?

A few years back I had my mind set in getting a Leica CRF... but got a good deal on the Zeiss and bought it.

My 2 cents worth.

- The Leica is smaller
- I find it easier to hold the Zeiss (two hands, like binoculars)
- With the Leica, you need to buy either the metric or imperial unit model... With the Zeiss, you can switch it easily enough.

My Leica does both Meters and Yards.... the PITA is that the pressure readings change with it from metric to imperial.

The 200L ranges the furthest. I can get them for $600 ish.

I got a Bushnell 1000 about 4/5 years ago.
Price was my main consideration at the time.
It works in most weather out to 600ish, I've yet to range anything in any weather anywhere near 1000 but it is reliable at 500+.
No issues and it works for me but the battery isn't cheap (although it lasts a couple of years).
So far it's worked out as a good piece of kit for a reasonable sum of money.

I have a Bushnell, advertised upto 1300 yards, reliable at 600-700 yards, ranges vehicles upto 1000 yards.
Also fresh battery makes a difference. YMMV

No your right the x model is the furthest ranging but is more money.

I would guess at least $1600 canadian plus tax. The 200L is the best value unless you need a very rugged unit it will also range further but is 3 times more money.

Bushnell Arc model with the latest processor. Here's my advice. Get the 1300 or 1500 yard models only because they are more powerful and give more accurate readings at that 5-600 yard range.

Ouch, well that's still cheaper than the $2300 Grouse River is asking for their G7 BR2 rangefinder. Might have to give the Bushnell 1 mile CONX a closer look.

The 200L is $600 and ranges to 1750m so far I have ranged a tree out a 1500m hand held. The 200X which will do 1950m on non reflective is $1600 plus and is more rugged.

I have always been impressed with my Bushnell Elite 1600, predecessor to the new Elite 1 mile, albeit without the new ballistic stuff

Father in law just picked up a Leica 1600-B, very impressive as well! And obviously more compact than the big Bushnell units. Vortex is due to release a new unit in 2016, based on the same size unit as their Ranger1000. No specs yet on distance etc

That 200L sounds like a really good deal. I was looking at the Bushy 1 mile but Im thinking of trying out the 200 instead. I believe I read in their manual that it does angles as well. Is that correct?

I think the 200L or Bushnell 1 mile maybe the best bets for the dollar.

I'd really like to see a couple honest takes on the Newcon rangefinders as well.
