My Dad has a Winchester model 70 Featherweight in .270win that has issues feeding the last cartridge out of the magazine (has a hinged floorplate). The rim end of the cartridge "kicks" out and therefore can't be fed into the chamber. I found that the magazine spring can be slid forward/backward where it attaches to the floorplate and one way seemed to 'fix' the problem. I am not satisfied with this 'fix' as I feel that this spring could move with normal use and then fail when you really need that last shot.
Any suggestions on how to fix?
