Last Ditch Nagoya Type 99

Good for you.
There was another guy looking at the rifle before you bought it.
He told the woman (seller) that in his expert opinion the rifle was all bubba'd with butt plate missing, homemade bolt and so on...

Lol I’m glad he though that it was all bubba so that I could get it! I’m surprised no one bought it before me! I mean if someone were not to know a little bit about them I can see how they would think that it’s home made, fairly crudely made rifles

Here's the only magazine you'll need: =)

Darn right I am lol, at least put a magazine through it!

Have you ever shot any of yours? How do they shoot?
Yes I shot my type 99 early and my type 99 last ditch and no problem at all... The barrel of my last ditch is in pretty good shape and it shoot well( a bit high) the look are crude and the wood move a little but nothing wrong with them
The only arisaka that we do not shot are the trainer and the special iron cast naval rifle...

Thats why the trainer have double circle on top receiver and sometime marked no live ammo.

The accident appen mostly when American troop that occupy Japan didn't understand Japanese and use live round and shoot with trainer thinking it was normal rifle...

I can admit the look of the very late type 99 so called last ditch is impressive compared with the ww2 rifle of other country... But a wooden buttplate a fixed rear sight, welded bolt knob and front band.. even a rope hole for sling didn't make those rifle Dangerous....

It’s amazing how they removed so many features from the last ditch rifles. The three piece stock is interesting, the forewood, rattles on them but I guess someone could put a wood shim if they wanted to get rid of the wobble without altering it in any way!
