Unfortunately my new job in Lloydminster did not work out so well and my GF was unable to resolve her custody issues back home so we have had to put our dream of moving the family west on hold.:( So much for getting us set up and having them come out and join me. Oh well it was a good time out there while it lasted but like McArthur said when he had to retreat from Corregidor,"I shall return". In the meantime here are a few pics from the last hunt I shared with my buddy Chad before returning to Ontario this past week.. It was a great morning. I found the birds for us and Chad secured permission to go get them. This was the second time I found birds at this farm and we were granted permission to have at them. The farmer owns all the property surrounding a pretty fair sized lake so the roost never gets disturbed. The lake literally fills up with thousands of birds and they leave the roost headed for multiple feeding locations. I think half the birds that worked us were probably traffic birds each time. The first time we hunted the place we ended with our limit of dark geese(16), 7 ross and 3 snows. This time around we ended with 11 Canadas, 2 Specklebellies, we each folded one from a pair that came in, and we picked up 4 more Snows, 12 Mallards and 1 Pintail. It was a great morning and a great way to end my Western season. On the way back to the truck Chad busted a covey of Hungarians not less tha 50 yards from the truck! Unfortunately he had left his gun at the blind!! Oh well, next time I am sure he will be ready for them.

Looks like another great waterfowl hunt! I liked the picture of the O/U. Now I know I'm not the only one hunting geese with one, lol. ;)

Best gun for wing shooting IMO and also the safest by far. I can lay with it open on top of my layout blind as in the pics and when the birds are spotted headed our way close it and cover up. Also I much prefer the two choke option and most of us know the third shot is usually a waste! Not to mention that they are a lot prettier and better handling than any of today's tupperware guns
....LOL!!!!

There are lots of us. Well, I'm stretching it because I use SxS's for all my hunting, ruffed grouse, pheasant, sharp tail, Huns, ducks, geese and turkey. The idea that one must use a 3" or 3 1/2" semi-auto gets a little too much airplay IMHO.

Although I do have a Wingmaster and 2 Model 12's. Sold my one semi-auto last year, a Browning Double Auto.
