I hunted almost every day of the archery season, most days twice. I seen a lot of deer but never close enough to arrow.
With 15 minutes of legal light left on closing day this young lady stepped out of the woods . I slipped an arrow through her 41 yards from the base of my tree, a little over my comfort zone, but she was very relaxed and the shot was unobstructed. I was seconds from packing it in for the year.:)

Awsome, Congrats and way to bring in the NEW YEAR

You have spent all season learning the most valuable aspect of hunting.

patience, patience, patience.

God job.

Very nice to see! Congratulations on a fine deer & YOUR persistence!!!

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Let's hear about your crossbow, arrow, broadhead, quiver mount etc etc...

You put it together when it counted - good on ya for that and your tenacity. An inspiration to many here I think.

My son shot a similar doe with 5 minutes left of legal light one day this past fall with his muzzleloader. That was pretty cool. But getting your deer after such a protracted hunt is super cool! Congrats and enjoy the table fare - you deserve it.

Congratulations on your success, and your patience. When you're old and crotchety, you'll probably remember that doe as vividly as anything you ever shoot.

I use an Excalibur Exocet, it has lots of little toys on it, a custom string, string suppression system, a custom quiver mount (only 2 made, I own both), and I also make my own arrows, heavy FOC tipped with standard Slick Tricks.
The over the rail quiver mount that you see is a Groundpounder mount, he made a special (very light) set up for my wifes bow so I ordered 2 while he machined them. It is lighter than the factory quiver mount and also gives great balance over the bow.
This deer was a huge relief for me, I am still grinning about it.:D
