They replaced it with an all plastic stock called the 10/22 tactical . Its a base model 10/22 in an ATI stock. Not much of it is interchangeable with ar15 parts as it is a big piece of plastic.
Sucks the SR22r is a nice rifle that really holds its value. These will sell quick.

I have seen the 10/22 in ati stock but never seen one of these in person. Are they still the same 10/22 as all the other models ? Meaning can they take reg stocks if one wanted and do the barrels interchange the same way as the regular version ?

Yes, It is a chassis built around a flat top 10/22 receiver (same as the nordic chassis but with ruger sr22 markings). takes 10/22 triggers and internals. Takes the buffertube and buttstock from and milspec ar15. takes any ar15 grip w/o beavertail, ar15 handguard, muzzle devices. same barrels as any 10/22. I swapped mine out for a 12.5"

They’re a really nice little gun. I’ve had mine since 2012, and many thousands of rounds through it. Early on I put a Volquartzen trigger in it, some decent iron sights on it, and finally a Vortex variable power scope on it with quick release mounts. I’ve always found it more accurate than any of my other 10/22’s (five right now). My RPRR outshoots it at 50 & 100 yds by a bit, but at 25 yds they’re comparable.
This in one of those guns that will never leave my possession. It doesn’t do anything spectacularly, but it’s a proven small game-getter, the chassis is pretty stiff and it’ll take some pounding. I’m sure glad I picked one up way back when

They are an awesome yeee-haw gun for their pricing point.
I was very pleasantly suppressed how accurate they are.
I only had mine for about 4 months....I sold it to buy my first AR 15 LOL

yes but the top rail that you mount your scope to is a part of the chassis, the receiver itself has no rail without the chassis. you could always put a rail on it but it would have to be removed to fit back inside the sr22 chassis.
